Under immediate (CTC) or general (Sr. CTC) supervision, provides
on a 24-7 basis, immediate crisis intervention and stabilization
services to individuals who are experiencing a mental health
emergency or urgent mental health situation on an intermittent
basis; triages, assesses, and provides crisis mental health support
services for persons seeking specialty mental health services, or
experiencing a mental health emergency utilizing culturally
sensitive, client/family-centered, strength-based, wellness and
recovery models of service delivery, telephonically and in person,
in a variety of clinical and non-clinical settings.
This is a two-level classification series that supports the
Crisis Team, whose goal is to provide a single point of entry for
persons seeking crisis services on a 24-hour-a-day,
seven-days-a-week basis throughout Ventura County. Crisis Team
Clinician (unlicensed) and Senior Crisis Team Clinician (licensed)
aredistinguished from the Behavioral Health Clinician series by the
crisis/emergency situation of the individual/family, and the rapid
mental health services that are provided in response to the
situation that will allow the individual to remain in the least
restrictive care possible.
The 24/7 nature of the work requires that Crisis Team Clinicians
work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
The Per Diem Pool (PDP) classifications are distinguished from
the Regular classifications in that the incumbents in these
classifications receive limited benefits. They will receive shift
differential, standby and callback premium pay and will participate
in the Ventura County Employees' Retirement Association if they are
assigned a biweekly work schedule of 64 hours or more. Incumbents
hired into these positions are not guaranteed any specific number
of work hours per biweekly pay period, and management has the
authority to relieve them from duty when there is insufficient
Effective 12/27/20, these salaries are increased by 2.5%. The
figures below indicate the updated salary amounts.
Crisis Team: $26.96 - $37.79 per hour
Crisis Team PDP: $36.77 per hour
Sr. Crisis Team: $28.31 - $39.66 per hour
Sr. Crisis Team PDP: $39.72 per hour
EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE: Some positions may be eligible for
educational incentive. This incentive may be 2.5%, 3.5%, or 5% for
incumbents in eligible positions based on completion of an
Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree that is not required
for the classification.
BILINGUAL INCENTIVE: Some positions may be eligible for
bilingual incentive depending on the applicable memorandum of
agreement and the needs of the department. In order to qualify for
this incentive, incumbents in eligible positions must take and pass
the applicable bilingual fluency examination with a score of
seventy percent (70%) or higher.

The eligible list established from this recruitment may be used
to fill current and future Regular (including Temporary and
Fixed-Term), Intermittent, and Extra-Help vacancies within the
Health Care Agency. There are currently three (3) Regular vacancies
and four (4) Per Diem Pool vacancies.
NOTE: If appointed at the lower level, incumbent may be promoted
to the higher level without further examination upon meeting the
minimum requirements, demonstrating satisfactory performance, and
in accordance with the business needs of the department.
