There are currently two (2) Regular, full-time positions
available within the Ventura County Clerk-Recorder, Registrar of
Voters Agency (Elections Division); located in Ventura but may also
be required to work in the County Clerk-Recorder's East County
Office located in Thousand Oaks, California. The Records Technician
II may also be utilized to work in the Clerk and Recorder's
Division and may require travel throughout Ventura County.
Under general supervision, the Records Technician II performs
records management support duties for the County Clerk-Recorder,
Elections Division. Requires compliance with federal, state, and
local laws, codes, statutes, and ordinances in the tracking,
indexing, filing, classification, coding, storage, security,
retrieval, disposition of official records, and conducting
elections. Records Technician II is the journey-level
classification in the Records Technician series.
The ideal candidates are detail-oriented professionals with
excellent organizational, time management, interpersonal and
communication skills; are computer literate with strong Microsoft
Word, Excel and Access skills; possess excellent multi-tasking
skills with the ability to work effectively with rapidly changing
priorities in a timely manner and with a high degree of accuracy;
and have the ability to address public inquiries, with courtesy,
tact, and diplomacy, under occasional stressful public contact,
consistent with department rules, practices and protocols.
The Records Technician II performs journey-level technical work
that is focused on examining a variety of materials for
completeness, accuracy, and identification of subject matter (e.g.,
recordable documents, voter registrations), requiring knowledge of
complex codes and statutes as well as operational procedures.
EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE: Some positions may be eligible for
educational incentive. This incentive may be 2.5%, 3.5%, or 5% for
incumbents in eligible positions based on completion of an
Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree not required by the
BILINGUAL INCENTIVE: Incumbents may also be eligible for
bilingual incentive pay depending upon operational needs and
certification of skills.
