Under immediate (I, II), general supervision (III), or general
direction (IV), incumbents provide clinical or administrative
psychiatric behavioral health services in a multi-cultural,
multi-disciplinary environment through the use of therapy
(individual, family, or group), case management, interagency
collaboration, and community organization.
Behavioral Health Clinician I (unlicensed) - is the
entry/trainee level classification, where emphasis is on learning
casework and treatment methods appropriate to a public mental
health setting, procedures, policies as part of a
multi-disciplinary team under the close clinical supervision of a
Board of Behavioral Sciences Licensed Marriage and Family
Therapist, Licensed Psychologist or Licensed Clinical Social
Behavioral Health Clinician II (unlicensed) - is the journey
level classification, providing behavioral health services as part
of a multi-disciplinary team under general supervision with
clinical supervision by a Board of Behavioral Sciences Licensed
Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Psychologist or Licensed
Clinical Social Worker.
Behavioral Health Clinician III (licensed) - is the advanced
journey level classification providing behavioral health services
as part of a multi-disciplinary team under general supervision.
Incumbents in this classification demonstrate greater skill and
depth of job knowledge in the assessment of consumer and family
needs, and in the formulation and implementation of treatment and
wellness and recovery plans.
Behavioral Health Clinician IV (licensed) - is the expert level
of the series, able to independently perform the most complex
clinical and case management assignments and provide clinical
supervision according to licensure and training. Demonstrates
leadership within the multi-disciplinary team.

Behavioral Health Clinician IV: $2,377.50 - $3,330.82 -
EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE: Some positions may be eligible for
educational incentive. This incentive may be 2.5%, 3.5%, or 5% for
incumbents in eligible positions based on completion of an
Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree that is not required
for the classification.
BILINGUAL INCENTIVE: Some positions may be eligible for
bilingual incentive depending on the applicable memorandum of
agreement and the needs of the department. In order to qualify for
this incentive, incumbents in eligible positions must take and pass
the applicable bilingual fluency examination with a score of
seventy percent (70%) or higher.
AGENCY/DEPARTMENT: Health Care Agency Behavioral Health
Behavioral Health Clinician I is represented by the Service
Employees' International Union (SEIU) and is eligible for overtime
Behavioral Health Clinician II, III, and IV are represented by
the Service Employees' International Union (SEIU) and are not
eligible for overtime compensation.
