Under direction, is responsible for providing professional
direct or indirect nursing care to patients.
As of 3/21/21 Registered Nurses and Per Diem RN's are eligible
for a 2.5% General Salary Increase (GSI). The salary figures below
reflect the increase:
Registered Nurse II (RN II): $41.13 - $49.18 per hour
Per Diem Registered Nurse II (PD RN II): $40.48 - $53.41 per
CERTIFICATION PAY: Incumbents in these classifications are
eligible for certification pay at a rate of $0.813 per hour based
on his or her scheduled work week hours and not exceed the
scheduled work week hours for each qualified certification
possessed up to a maximum of five (5) certifications for the RN and
up to a maximum of three (3) certifications for the PD RN.
EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE: Some positions may be eligible for
educational incentive. This incentive may be 2.5%, 3.5%, or 5% for
incumbents in eligible positions based on completion of an
Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree that is not required
for the classification.
BILINGUAL INCENTIVE: Some positions may be eligible for
bilingual incentive depending on the applicable memorandum of
agreement and the needs of the department. In order to qualify for
this incentive, incumbents in eligible positions must take and pass
the applicable bilingual fluency examination with a score of
seventy percent (70%) or higher.
AGENCY/DEPARTMENT: Health Care Agency - Santa Paula Hospital -
RN II and PD RN II are represented by the California Nurses'
Association (CNA) and are eligible for overtime compensation.
NOTE: Salary placement will be determined according to the
current CNA memorandum of agreement.
The eligible list established from this recruitment may be used
to fill current and future Regular (including Temporary and
Fixed-Term), Intermittent, and Extra Help vacancies within the ICU.

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Uses the full scope of the Nurse Practice Act to assess, plan,
organize, and provide nursing care to assigned patients.
- Follows prescribed doctors' orders concerning treatments and

Requires twelve (12) months of recent full-time acute care
registered nursing experience in an ICU department of an acute care
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess and maintain a current, valid license as a
Registered Nurse issued by the State of California or Registered
Nurse licensure in another state with California licensure
Must have a current, valid Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR)
certification by first day of employment.
Must obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
by first day of employment.
Must obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
within six (6) months of employment.
Successful completion of the Health Care Agency Pharmacology
examination within three (3) months of employment is mandatory for
assignments within the Health Care Agency.
Possession of a current, valid Critical Care Registered Nurse
Possession of a current, valid Emergency Nursing Pediatric
Course (ENPC) certification.
Possession of a current, valid Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of: the theory, techniques, and practices of
professional nursing; medical terminology and hospital routine and
equipment; and medicines and narcotics.
Working ability to: plan and organize nursing care; train and
supervise non-professional staff; establish and maintain the
confidence of patients and staff; maintain confidentiality of
patient/client information; work effectively in different
healthcare and/or hospital departments or shifts as required;
establish and maintain effective interpersonal relations with other
staff members, patients, and their families; communicate
effectively both orally and in writing.
