Under general supervision, Community Services Worker II (CSW
II)assists professional staff in providing outreach, education,
transportation, referral, translation and program related services
to culturally, economically, physically or mentally impaired or
disadvantaged individuals in the community; and performs other
duties as required.
The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about and have experience
with a broad spectrum of individuals with diverse language, social,
cultural, and economic backgrounds; have strong interpersonal and
verbal communication skills; and have the ability to handle
high-stress situations and diffuse/de-escalate them when

BILINGUAL INCENTIVE: Some positions may be eligible for bilingual
incentive depending on the applicable memorandum of agreement and
the needs of the department. In order to qualify for this
incentive, incumbents in eligible positions must take and pass the
applicable bilingual fluency examination.

The eligible list established from this recruitment may be used to
fill current and future Regular (including Temporary and
Fixed-term), Intermittent, and Extra Help vacancies. There are
currently four (4) Intermittent vacancies.

Examples Of Duties
Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
* Conduct outreach and education in communities most impacted by
COVID 19 on where to go for testing, for vaccines, how and where to
obtain results, where to access available resources and current
* Answers inquiries and explains agency/program policies and
services to individuals and groups within the community;
* Refers individuals and families to available community education
when conducting outreach and education;
* May provide translation and/or interpreting services to community
members; follows-up on referrals or appointments scheduled;
* May lead group presentations and workshops on specialized topics
specifically COVID 19 related information involving testing,
vaccines, public health guidance, and current Health Orders and
guidance for business sectors;
* Keeps records of community members served; prepares routine
* May be required to wear full personal protective equipment
* Assists with case management of clients housed at the vulnerable
population motel sites;
* Transports clients to/from vulnerable population sites and
perform various errands in support of client needs;
* Inputs client data into required databases; and
* Performs other related duties as required.
These are entrance requirements to the examination process and
assure neither continuance in the process nor placement on an
EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE
Requires two (2) years of in-person, face-to-face experience
providing public services to the general public or one year of
experience equivalent to that of a Community Services Worker I.
NOTE: For purposes of this recruitment "public services" are those
services provided to community members by a public sector
organization or a governmental entity.
Necessary Special Requirements
* Beginning skill with Word and Excel
* Possess and maintain a valid California driver license
* Be willing and able to travel to various sites throughout the
County on a regular basis
* Be willing and able to work occasional weekends as needed for
* Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)
* Public services experience in the health care industry
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Some to thorough knowledge of: agency and program policies and
procedures; community structure and resources; group and family
dynamics; County roads and buildings; problems, needs and
behavioral patterns of the clientele served; and specialized topics
for group presentation.
Working ability to: follow instructions; effectively communicate
with individuals and groups from diverse cultural, social and
economic backgrounds; transport passengers in a safe and timely
manner; write case chronologies, field entries and other reports
Ability to: effectively communicate with individuals and groups

logs and produce reports as needed; work with physically/mentally
impaired or economically disadvantaged individuals and groups; work
occasional weekends; possess and maintain a valid California driver
license and travel to various sites throughout the County.

WRITTEN EXAMINATION - 100%: A job-related written exam will be
administered to test applicants' knowledge of language usage,
telephone etiquette, community resources, interpersonal skills, and
filing. Candidates must earn a score of seventy percent (70%) or
higher to qualify for placement on the eligible list.
Candidates successfully completing the examination process may be
placed on an eligible list for a period of one (1) year.
BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION: A thorough pre-employment, post offer
background investigation which may include inquiry into past
employment, education, criminal background information and driving
