Director of Product Management, Advertising Technology to join our
growing FAST Product & Technology team. Reporting to the Senior
Director of Product, the Director of Product Management,
Advertising Technology will drive the strategy, development, and
optimization of Xumo's ad tech products and initiatives. In this
role, you will drive the strategy, roadmap, and execution of
products that enhance our platform's targeting, personalization,
and monetization capabilities. This role will require an individual
to be very organized, excellent in written and verbal
communication, highly analytical, capable of performing deep data
analysis with limited assistance, communicate clearly and regularly
with internal and external stakeholders, and consistently
demonstrate subject matter expertise.Job DescriptionAdditional Job
Summary/Info:This role will collaborate closely with
cross-functional teams, including ad operations, front- and
back-end engineering, advertising sales, project management &
marketing, to deliver innovative advertising solutions that drive
average revenue per user while optimizing for the best possible
user experience.
- Candidate must exhibit deep and broad knowledge of modern
digital video advertising technologies and have directly relatable
experience with audience segmentation & data-driven advertising
solutions.
- Position is office based in Irvine, CA- 4 days/week & 1
day/week remote.Core Responsibilities
- Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and execute the product
roadmap for ad tech solutions, ensuring alignment with business
objectives and market trends.
- Lead the product development of data-driven advertising
products, including identity resolution, audience modeling, and
behavioral segmentation for the Xumo Identity Platform.
- Work closely with engineering and ad operations teams to build
scalable and privacy-compliant solutions for user profiling and
targeting.
- Performance Optimization: Leverage data and analytics to
enhance ad targeting, monetization strategies, and user
experience.
- Partner with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to
understand market needs and translate them into product
features.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and
emerging technologies to identify new opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA,
etc.) and industry standards in audience data management.
- Establish KPIs and metrics to measure product performance and
optimize audience segmentation strategies.
- Drive go-to-market strategies and collaborate with business, ad
ops, and sales teams to maximize adoption and revenue impact.
- Directs, establishes, maintains and plans the overall policies
and goals for a product management department.
- Sets new product strategy for program or product group.
- Applies expertise in state-of-the-art product technologies and
is relied on by top management to serve as a proxy for the
market.
- Defines, develops and implements standard operational
frameworks for products.
- Coordinates with sales and marketing to assess client and
industry needs and identifies possible solutions to meet those
needs.
- Accountable for profit and loss or budgetary management of
assigned products.
- Develops business cases and supporting documentation.
- Oversees development of assigned new products and services and
ensures customer's needs are met. Provides product support and
documentation and develops of product materials.
- Manages lifecycle of new products and services.
- Demonstrates excellent project management skills, with a proven
track record of successful delivery of projects on time, in line
with budget expectations and to strategy.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in
matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to
work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as
necessary.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications
- 9+ years of product management experience in Ad Tech, MarTech,
or a related industry.
- Deep understanding of user profiles, audience segmentation, and
data-driven advertising solutions.
- Experience with SSAI solutions as they relate to the FAST
industry.
- Experience with DMPs (Data Management Platforms), CDPs
(Customer Data Platforms), identity resolution, and real-time
bidding (RTB) ecosystems.
- Strong knowledge of programmatic advertising, first-party and
third-party data, contextual targeting, and personalization.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations and best practices
for compliant data handling.
- Proven track record of launching successful ad tech products
and driving business impact.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
with a data-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management
skills.
- Experience working with engineering and data teams to build
scalable, high-performing products.Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with machine learning models for audience insights
and targeting.
- Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (AWS, GCP).
- Familiarity with advertising APIs, SDKs, and integrations with
ad exchanges, DSPs, and SSPs.
- Familiarity in Television/Broadcast/FAST, Media, Technology, or
related field
- Familiarity with video ad insertion technologies in TV or
streaming media solutions
- Familiarity with Content Management and/or Asset Management
Systems
- Proficiency with relational databases, performing SQL queries,
and other querying tools
- Proficiency with Jira or similar product management
