client, Cal State LA, is recruiting an Executive Director of the
University Auxiliary Services (UAS) to join their team. This is a
rare and impactful leadership opportunity to shape and oversee a
wide range of entrepreneurial and mission-critical operations that
directly support the university's academic and community goals. As
the Executive Director, you'll drive strategic initiatives, foster
organizational excellence, and serve as a key partner in advancing
student success at one of California's most diverse and vibrant
public universities. This position is on-site at the Cal State LA
campus and requires full-time, in-person presence.Here's a little

university's mission. UAS supports the campus by managing grants
and contracts, overseeing commercial operations, and administering
externally funded projects such as research, workshops, and
conferences. Through this work, UAS enhances the student, faculty,
and staff experience at Cal State LA.About the role:As the
Executive Director of UAS, you will provide strategic and
operational leadership across a wide range of services. Reporting
to the UAS Board of Directors, with a dotted-line relationship to
the University's Vice President for Administration and CFO, this
role oversees:
- Financial services and budget administration
- Human resources for approximately 600 UAS employees
- Contracts and grants (pre- and post-award)
- Bookstore operations (managed by Barnes & Noble)
- Campus food services, catering, and conference center
operations
- Childcare servicesKey facilities under this role's purview
include the Rong Xong Xu BioSpace Incubator, TVFM Building, the
103,000 sq. ft. Golden Eagle Building (including a 600-seat
conference center and University Club), and the Pat Brown
Institute. You'll manage an $8M operating budget and oversee
externally sponsored programs generating $25M+ in annual
revenue.What You Bring to the Team:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or
university
- 5 years of leadership/management experience within a large,
multi-purpose organization
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to plan
strategically
- Experience with budget planning, fiscal oversight, and resource
allocation
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication
skills
- Experience in personnel management including supervision of
staff and employee development
- A commitment to diversity and social justice with the ability
to create a department which is inclusive and accessible
- The ability to write proposals, reports, and make
presentations
- Demonstrated ability and/or interest in working in a
multicultural multiethnic environmentWhat's in it for you:The
anticipated yearly salary range for this position is $185,000 -
$210,000 based on experience. Offering relocation
